- Basic registration
It is suitable for businesses whose annual turnover is ₹12 lakhs, such businesses can go for basic registration of FSSAI. Food Business comes under this category is a small scale business, start-ups, etc. The eligibility basis in Kerala is explained below,

These types of businesses having a turnover of fewer than ₹ 12 lakhs can do basic registration in Kerala.
State Fssai license
FSSAI deals not only with the manufacturing of food products but also monitors every stage of the process until the product reaches consumers. It is compulsory to have a license to do a food business in India. Applicants can apply for a state license when their turnover is more than ₹12 lakhs up to ₹20 crore are eligible for a state license. Companies that come under these are the eligibility are small to medium-sized companies, transport companies, retailers, etc.
Central Fssai license.
FSSAI license consists of a 14-digit number which should be printed on the backside of the product along with its logo. Food Business turnover of more than ₹20 crores can apply for a central license. Type of business eligible for a central license is export-import Companies, government authorities, manufacturers, airports, etc. So before getting an FSSAI license, go through the eligibility criteria in order to obtain accurate certification for your company.

- Fssai declaration form

- ID Proof of the Person such as Aadhar card, driving license, passport, identity card.
- Any Government Registration Certificates such as Company Incorporation Certificate, Firm Registration, Partnership Deed, Pan card, Shop, and Establishment Registration, Trade License.
- If it is a private limited company or partnership firm then they should submit MOA & AOA or Partnership deed copy respectively.
- Any One of the certificates is compulsory ( Trade license, Shop and Establishment Registration, Panchayath License, Corporation License, Municipality License )

Documents Required for central Fssai Registration or license
- Agreement of Business place was situated ( rented or own)
- ID Proof of the Person (Aadhaar Card / Driving License / Passport / Voter ID)
- Any Government Registration Certificates ( Company Incorporation Certificate / Firm Registration / Partnership Deed / Pan card / GST Registration Number / Shop and Establishment Registration / Trade License)
- If it is a private limited company or partnership firm then they should provide MOA & AOA or Partnership deed copy respectively.
- IE Code (Import Export Code) Certificate. (for the category of export and import IE code is compulsory)
- Authority letter from the company to the concerned person stating that he is authorized to file an FSSAI application.
- List of food categories desired to be manufactured (In the case of manufacturers).
- Machinery details use for production in your company.
- In case if your business is a mineral water plant then a water test report is compulsory.
These are the documents that should be prepared by the applicant for the registration process as per the type of license required.
Online Registration procedure for FSSAI license.
It is very simple to register for FSSAI and obtain a certificate. You are required to follow the steps mentioned below.
- The applicant must visit the FSSAI website for registration.
- Then sign-up in case your new register and create your new account in the portal.
- Then you must enter the details required for new user registration such as your name, address, contact details. Then click on submit.
- Now you registered in the portal. Provide user id and password to log in to the website.
- After logging into the website, you must check their eligibility on the login page.
- After checking eligibility, the next step is to fill up details such as the address of the premises, state, etc. Then click the save and add button.
- For obtaining a license, you must select the license or registration tab and apply for a license.
- Fill up all the details asked by the portal for license and attach required documents to the form and submit it
- After the form is submitted you should pay some prescribed fees and then receive the receipt of it.
