Proprietor /Company/LLP Documents

 

• PAN Card of the Proprietor/Company/LLP

• Certificate of Incorporation, if having

• PAN Card of all the Proprietor/Directors

• Aadhar Card of the Proprietor/Directors

• Mobile and Email of all the Proprietor/Directors

 

Proof of Property

 

• Latest Utility Bill i.e. Electricity

• Ownership Proof i.e. Property Tax, Sales deed etc.

• If rented place then Rent Agreement or NOC in the name of the Proprietor /Company/LLP

• Cancelled Cheque or bank Statement in the name of the Proprietor /Company/LLP.

For validation of application aadhar card OTP is required to submit IEC application.

What is import-export code?

Import-Export Code is a 10-digit identification number issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Government of India. This code is valid for a lifetime. It is compulsory to have this code for the companies who deal with the import or export of goods and services.

What is the Registration process of import and export code?

In order to do your international business without any obstacles you need to have an IEC code for your organization, the below-mentioned steps will help you to register for the IEC code.

  1. You should prepare necessary documents before applying for code such as,
  • Pan card of the applicant.
  • Applicant's address proof and identity proof.
  • Company’s bank account statement copy.
  • Documents related to the place of the company such as rental agreement or electricity bill of the premises.

So these are the documents required for the iec application process.

  • The next step is to file your application form in Aayaat Niryaat form ANF- 2A and this must be filed with the respective regional office of DGFT.
  • Fill up the application form attaching the necessary documents.
  • After all the documents are provided you must file your DGFT with a digital signature certificate and pay prescribed fees.
  • After all the verification is done, you will receive an IEC code from the government.

What are the fees of the IEC code application?

The prescribed fee for the IEC code application is ?500.

How to check your IEC application status.

You must visit the ICEGATE portal, click on the service tab, select user type, then choose IE code status, click IE Code@ICEGATE option, this will open the IEC inquiry form where you can track your application status.

You can do international trade without having an IEC code, how?

Yes, you can do international trade without having an IEC code for your company, as there are some exemptions such as,

  • Department and Ministry of central or state government.
  • It is exempted on people who import or export their goods for personal use and not connected with a trade or agriculture or manufacturer.
  • People who are importing or exporting to or from Nepal, Myanmar, and china provided that CIF does not exceed ?25000. But for exporting special chemicals, organisms, materials and equipment, and technologies listed in appendix 3 should obtain an IEC code for trade.

So these trade are exempted from obtaining import or export certificates for transaction purposes.
